I few months ago I blew a rod through my 7AFE motor and today I finally finished putting a new one in. The only thing is when I drive it the engine temp drops and the cheek engine light pops on. When I stop the engine temp come back up. I did not have this problem with the old motor. Did I do somthing wrong instailing the motor, or is this a new problem. I did store my car two months before doing the engine drop. Any thoughs why it is doing this???? kindasad.gif

check your codes, it will be stored in the ecu.
sounds like your thermostat is bad.
but IDk why your getting a CEL.
if you dont know how to check for codes go here:

No I never installed a new thermostat, not hard to do might do that tomorrow to see if that solves my issue. I don't have a way of reading the engine light code so i'm not sure what the ligh code is.

they are the same.
4a = 7a. same thing as far as codes.
i am editing in links to the actual 94 7a and 5s codes, with instructions on testing the systems that create the code.
