Spring is coming and I'm feeling the itch. Last year I did a few small upgrades to my '96 and I'm starting to crave some bigger upgrades.

After looking at many pictures and reading many threads, I think I have determined what I may do next, and it's some body work.

So far my list consists of:

C-one front bumper
TRD Rear Splitters
GT-4 hood or VIS Zyclone hood
Maybe 404 Sideskirts, might stick with stock ones

I was getting ideas from cars like celiracer's and Tufy's for inspiration because damn those are some hot lookin' cars! tongue.gif

I've been visiting websites for the last few days trying to gauge the price of all of this. I have heard people say bulletproofautomotive.com is a good place, and some say japanparts.com.

Bulletproof wants $748 for the C-One front and from what I see, japanparts wants $742. The japanparts website, after selecting my shipping options, looks like they charge an extra $625.48 on top of the price, unless I am misinterpreting this, while the bulletproof one says their price includes the shipping to their US office, then you have to pay shipping on top of that to get it to your door.

Is this right? over $1350 for a bumper, shipped? Seems very high. kindasad.gif

Also, I noticed there are ST202 and 205 versions of the bumper. I know that the ST205 hood is higher at the front, but if I were to do the ST205 bumper and an ST205 hood, would they fit? I'm assuming I would either need the ST205 crash bar or grind down the existing one on my car, but I don't know.

Any information anyone? smile.gif

Yes, if you get the C-one ST205 bumper, and you get the ST205 hood as well, then they will both line up. You will need to modify your front crash bar to allow the bumper to fit on your car properly.

So it can be modified and doesn't have to be replaced then? That's good to hear. Is the modification overly detrimental to the bar, like will it still do what it's supposed to or will the modifications weaken it too much?

The modifications will weaken the bar, however, it's better than having no bar at all.

So from japan parts, the C-one bumper alone with shipping would cost CA $1,415.71.

Time to check with bulletproofautomotive.

don't forget you'll need a couple of minor things as well like the upper bumper metal retainer, bumper to hood rubber seal, some sort of turn signal to go with it (more likely gt-four ones), etc. if you grind down a st205 bar, you'll have a 2" gap between the bar and the bumper (like what i did). if you're gonna get the gt4 bar get the frame rail adapter brackets as well.

personally, i'd rather just get a replica c-one bumper from.. oh say, extremedimensions or whoever makes one with the best fitment, and just do what malpaso did with the gt4 bumper. so say $200 for the c-one bumper and another $200 for the gt4 bumper skin plus $125 in shipping and customs which comes to ~$525. you'll have an extra $890 for merging the 2 bumpers together. here, i can have my dad's friend do it for like less than $100 bucks.

or.. you can get this one halfcut i found online which includes a st205 c-one hood, st205 varis bumper, jdm fenders, jdm projectors, and a modified 3s engine for $2600 plus s&h and customs.

The Extreme Dimensions C-5 Bumper is a C-One replica right?

Andy's lists it for $226.58 and shipping is only $218.94 (total $445.52), which is a heck of a lot better, combined with, say a VIS Zyclone hood, that would look pretty good.

How is the quality of extreme dimensions product? This should be a direct fit over my existing crash bar shouldn't it?

I was hoping to keep the mods roughly around $2k. If I had the time, space and extra car to drive for a while, doing a huge mod like what you mentioned would be more feasible.

Eh, I got a C-One replica, I want to sell it and get the real C-One. I talked to some C-One guy and he said he could get it to me for about $900ish. Let me try to remember what company it is and I'll get back to you.

I received a reply from bulletproofautomotive.com and they said the final price for the ST202 C-One front bumper, shipped to Canada, would be $993 ($748 + $245), $422.71 cheaper than japanparts.com. So far that's the best price I can find for an authentic C-One bumper.

With the ST202 bumper, It should be a direct replacement for my existing bumper right? No need for a modified/gt-4 crash bar?

So that, plus some TRD rear splitters, should be a good start I think.

If I did the ST205 bumper, I would probably do the GT-4 hood too, but I was wondering, what about rain and snow? Isn't there something that goes under the GT-4 hood vent to collect the rain so it's not pouring all over your engine?

And is the only real difference that the bumper for the ST205 is a bit taller?

The differences between the 205 and 202 bumper are the slight buldge in the 205 and the turn signal cutouts are different. You can get a rain guard for you ST205 hood, i mean, the grill will probably stop a lot of the snow (oh how i miss snow). It's not really required unless it pours a lot all of the time where you live.

This year, we've had a lot of snow (i <3 snow biggrin.gif), but rain is really sporadic.

Sounds like the ST202 bumper would be the easy way out. So I guess I have to decide, if I do the hood as well, if I want a GT4 or a Zyclone hood.

Anyone looking to sell some TRD rear splitters? I see the same ones on ebay out of the UK listed as "TRD Spats" but how's the quality/fit?. Is the person who makes those on this site? Anyone buy those ones before?

Well if you go with the ST205 C-one kit, you can get the ST205 C-One hood too. It looks practically the same as the "zyclone" but it's made for the ST205 bumper. Oh it's also much more exspensive too. But if you go with the ST202 bumper, your pretty much stuck using the zyclone or any ST202 hood. The problem with the ST202 bumper is that you have to find your own way to fit turn signals in them. C-one made their own turnsignals for use only with the ST202 bumper, but I've never seen anybody who has been able to locate them. The ST205 C-one bumper uses ST205 turn signals.

original C-one bumper is too expensive IMO, if you want a C-one + GT-4 hood the best way to do it is

buy a c-one knock off

then do this

vsideboy's mod

then add the GT-4 hood and call it done.

that's the cheapest way to do this while keeping it clean and sexy.
