CV joints - get under your car and check the rubber bung that links your axle to your hubs, feel around for any holes, grease etc! Also grab ahold of the axle and shake it vigourously, if you feel any knocking then you need new CV joints this is usually due to the CV boots splitting and dirt getting into the bearings and corroding them!

If you reeally have no clue - take it to your nearest garage for an opinion! But make sure they don' fob you off with some **** story, report what they reckon on here!

Good luck

Squeaking isn't going to be caused by bad CV joints most likely.

It's probably either your brakes or something scraping the rotor.
Have you already looked at your brakes?

Check your belts too! Open the hood and get someone to drive slowly with you along side to try to identify where the sound is coming from!

Jsut realized you said it sqeaks when you brake, well that's probably the source! Check brake fluid levels and power steering levels! Then check your rotors and pads!

woah hey, stop knocking on my boy, 94TRDcelica. He's just helpin.

if it is only coming from one side, Check your BREAKS first. Get someone to drive for you thru a parking lot or something, and walk along and look and listen. (the hardest part is letting someone else drive laugh.gif )

if that is the case, then know that your break pad has a plate between it and the caliper. Get some grease and grease the spot between the plate and the pad, and the plate and the caliper. let it dry and re-test.

That squeak is due to microscopic viberation, the grease will keep it from viberating.

If that dont work, than start looking at your CV's. Directions for that have been posted by 94TRDcelica. However, the squeal would usualy be accompanied by some rough driving...

Now if it isnt indigenous to one side, than check your belts. You can get some belt-desqueeler at your local auto-joint. otherwise, tighten and look for cracks/replace belts.

if none of this works, than install one killer sound system and turn it up untill you dont hear it anymore. laugh.gif if you cant find the source, than treat the symptoms. Just like a doctor... laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif
