Hello, I have been lurking the board for a bit and have finally decided on what my plans are. Initially I wanted to go right at a 5SGTE build but later thought I should build the engine first so it can handle the boost and do it right the first time. Soo....here is what I am thinking about doing unless anyone objects or knows of something to do instead:
Buying... Wiseco forged pistons/rods 86.5mm (.020 over) 138mm rod length 22mm pin diameter Rod bearings Valve seals Lightweight flywheel Axle Assy's Front hub bearings Machine shop... Resurface head Valve job Bore/hone block Port/polish head Grind crank I will be doing a dyno and taking lots of pictures before so I will know if this was even worth it. Would anyone suggest not boring the head and keeping the stock 86mm pistons and save the money at the machine shop?? I just don't know how much bang I can get for spending the extra bucks. Also, buying through Wiseco, they only have a part number for a 3SGTE block but the 5SFE block is the exact same right? So the rod length should be ok? Anything else I am overlooking? Thanks, Don |
