either a bad battery or alternator is my guess. it's almost time for me to replace my alternator. i'd like to get a high output alternator so it can handle a larger sound system as well as get an Optima attery.
i would get yours checked.

like ferris said, the alternator or the battery.
if it dims and you can notice it pretty bad, its the alternator.
but check the battery for free at a autozone just to make sure.
and my car idles the same as yours, so i guess it is normal.

replaced my battery 2 months ago.......and car still dims........

now i know what to do........

if you hear a clicking noise under the hood, put your ear next to the alternator and listen for any whoopping/ clicking noise with the engine on of course..............

my altenator and my battery are brand new. but thats not my concern right now, whats bothering me is that everytime i press my brake the headlights and all the lights on my car flash. i can be in a complete stop and i press the brakes they flash , or i can be moving and as i slow down they flash?what can it be.

It doesn't matter if they are new, just try this anyway.

what exactly do you mean by flash ? like strobe ? or just dim out and come back to normal repeadily ?

can you explain that a little better for me ?
