I dont know, every body has their own opinion. but if you are willing to send something to trash or scrapyard, why try to sell it before, in the attempt.

Im not bashing anyone or any specific post. But these come everynow and then. My only question is, if you have already thought it was trash, why sell it. Just charge shipping. Thats at least what i think.

Or dont put the intentions to throw away. I guess, cause it looks like either you want profit, if not throw away. Why not give away...

Just thinking.....

Please discuss appropiately, dont make the mods close the thread....

He're my opinion.. since I have one open now, and from a quick glance I don't see anyone else's thread like this, so.......

I've got a garage full of stuff I don't want. I don't own a Celica anymore, and I want these things gone. They're taking up space in my garage and I have no reason to keep them. I would like for people on here to have the opportunity to take these things, or I'm going to throw them away. Things that I have sold have been at a FRACTION of what they would normally cost. Why? Because I don't need the money. It's basically enough to pay for shipping. Does that count as "giving it away"?

I think people say it to make it move faster, or to imply that they''re giving great deals...

IDK any other reason, other than to *hopefuly* make money rolleyes.gif

personaly, i'll hold on to stuff for awhile to try to sell it, then i'll get tired of it and try to give it away, and after that i trash it. But i hate to throw things away.

I've been trying to sell a stock air box for some time now, and did some work on a celi this weekend. His air filter box was broke, and the hose to the throttle body was busted in half, so i gave it to him. Free. My gal wanted it out of the house, and no body was buying it, so fcukett....

But that's my story, not trying to thread jack, but my idea sounds logical. (atleast to me) But when i say i'm trashing something, it's probably already trashed biggrin.gif

so you are going to try and flame someone for making a profit on something they no longer want/need?
dude that is what "selling" is about...you don't want or need it so you sell it.

nothing in life is free...

some people are willing to give stuff away every now and then which is all good, nothing wrong there. But don't make a thread to flame someone for wanting to exchange cash for there items cause thats the way life works..
oh and the "one man's trash, is another man's treasure" now thats a great post.

OP is a cheapo laugh.gif

Anything that doesn't end up in landfill is good.

And giving it away is IF they're willing to pay for shipping. What's wrong with trying to make a couple buck for something that you know you'll throw away?

i agree with playr.

i had one of these a little while back. i put my manifold for sale and said i would throw it away if it didn't sell by x time. i would throw it away because i need it out of my house. but im not going to ship something out at my expense or your expense without making some profit because it's more cost-effective to throw it in my trash bin at home than to drive to a shipping store and waste my time to do a good deed, when in the end, that person might even go off and sell what they got for free and charge what i could've made.

i have seen some responses and thank you.

Yes i guess giving away in no way means ill ship for free. You have to cover the expenses of packing and your time thats true.

I am not really bashing anyone in particular, there have been at least 20+ posts. And of course i did not mean to offend anybody.

This topic exists because i wanted to hear mature opinions of why things get done here. wink.gif

Some times i have seen tremendous profits for things that could simple be shipped for the price of shipping and handling. But if you do the math, there is more that S & H.

Yes its true you want to make a profit, but as an experienced EBAY seller, you dont list that, otherwise you wont sell it at all. People look at items, and think if you are willing to throw away, there might be something wrong with it, which in many cases there is not. Guess this is not ebay. But anyways...

Just tought i would want to hear opinions on the matter. We are a comunity to help each other, yes is good to sell and make profit. But when it comes from making profit out of something that can be thrown away, idk.

I am not flaming, bashing or directing to anyone, as i said there have been plenty of examples, i wanted to hear opinions.

and as always i wanted to keep a mature discussion to keep the thread open. If you have nothing good to say, please dont flame ME.
