Very true. But i suspect it was a rip off, as have most movies have been lately, due to the wonderful writers strike that happened.

Damn - that had to be on purpose right?
IMO they could do worse than to try to copy the original. IDK why they are even redoing this part of the DK series. Batman Begins led perfectly into the original - they just should have left it at tat - how you gonna top JN's Joker performance?
Strange how much the Joker looks like Eric Draven in these trailers - both actors died during the production of the films [albeit under completely different circumstances] - creepy.
I'm finding it hard to get psyched up for this one with IronMan looking so damn cool [just read the book - damn. I know Peter David wrote it but if the movies half as good...]

Maybe it was purposefully done, as an homage.

Batman Begins was NOT a prequel!

It has nothing to do with the first 4, I don't understand that after so many years people are still not getting it.

AND the new Incredible Hulk is not a sequel!

BTW: (Edit 3) the new trailer will officially be released sunday, but it's on SHH! right now if you look.

I've already seen pirated sections of the "Dark Knight"
looked pretty good.

the new hulk movie = failure...they just made one like a couple years ago?

I watched it. I stand by my statement. It's very similar, but since we don't know the reasoning, it's all assumptions.

Hulk looks fairly cool, mainly because of Ed Norton. The first one came out 5 years ago.

Oh I've gotten it since it came out - it's just it worked so well as a prequel and some of us still have much love for [In my case just the first one] the other movies.
Relax tho man - no sense getting your blood pressure up.

oh, i agree with the crazy man that's screaming... except for being crazy and screaming laugh.gif

Batman Begins had the "joker" slash "man who kills Bruce's parents"(joker) that guy was shot. Were as traditionaly the story goes that that murderer became the joker later.

But i have to wonder why the hell anyone would care about batman anymore? It's been done. And no actor in this world (short of Jim Carey) could EVER stand up to Jack Nicklesons's joker preformance. And I'm not sayin J.C. would do better, but that's the only actor flexable enough to do it. (but there is nothing scary about J.C.) Nickleson really played a villan there, and no amout of special effects will make me forget that...

You did see Jim Carey as the riddler right? it worked well enough but was just overshadowed by the rest of that POS movie.

When is this new one coming out finally anyway?

Actually ... I think in the comic book, his parents were killed by a random criminal and had nothing to do with the joker (like in batman begins).

Jack made for a great joker, but from the trailers Heith did something really special with the role. You really get that psycho maniac lunatic feel that Ive never seen anyone do before.

what does JC have to do with the joker? JC played the Riddler.....The Joker is Heith Ledger.......from what i've seen of Dark Knight HL does a pretty good job.
and like Art said, The Wayne's were killed by a random criminal, not by a larger character.

guy, you just love to argue with me dont you?

I dont watch TV much. I have a life. Did you not just read the thread where i stated i never seen that one? I never see alot of movies in their entirety.

And as for movies i have seen, i have seen the first one. i watched the cartoons with the kids, it's always been the damn joker.

Hollywood destroying a perfectly good story; it's not new. And I still dont like it. But if you wanna claim that the newest sh!t stain to hit the TP is the way it has to be, then good for you. Personally i really don't care enough about batman to continue this with you.

Go watch the first one. Figure it out. If ya want, i got it on VHS; unless VHS never existed in your eyes and it's been blu-ray and dvd since you were born, just because those are the newest sh!ts to hit the TP right? laugh.gif

And another thing, The hulk is gay. He's a big green man running arround san francysco in purple capri' pants screaming "dont make me angry"

x2 I hope this is as dark as the Dark Knight series deserves.
Maybe two good comic movies this year? Wow - who'd a thought?

no i don't like to argue with you, you just consistently talk out your ass.
the MUGGER who killed the Waynes was NEVER any large character, he was a small time mugger thats IT.
This is dated back to when the COMICS were around in the late 30s early 40s

QUOTE
As a little boy, Bruce Wayne is shocked to see his parents, the physician Dr. Thomas Wayne and his wife Martha, being murdered by a mugger in front of his very eyes. This drives him to fight crime in Gotham City as Batman. In later years, June 26th becomes the established date (Batman Confidential #14) that the murder occurred, and the Batman annually visits the spot in Crime Alley where his parents died.

and just so you know what the JOKER has done
QUOTE
He has been responsible for numerous tragedies in Batman's life, including the paralysis of Barbara Gordon (Batgirl/Oracle) and the murders of Jason Todd (the second Robin) and Jim Gordon's second wife Sarah Essen. In 2006, Wizard magazine rated Joker as the greatest villain of all time.[2]

I have seen pretty much every batman movie, including the ones before you are born.
Cartoons, blah blah blah....stop trying to argue with people who know more about topics then you..
or do you smash your movies into the sidewalk to check for their validity..

sh!t validity might be too big a word laugh.gif

Wait... i gotta admit, that was pretty funny. (mental image of me bashing VHS's into the sidewalk claiming they are unworthy of the VCR that :finally: stood up to the test laugh.gif )

but more importantly guy, I'm not one of the lil' 16, 18, 20 or whatever year old kids with a fresh new car. I've been around for a few minutes.

Why the hell are we arguing about Batman? The "comic universe" is a damn multi-verse, it's not uncommon for the same charters to run thru the same basic story-line with different circumstances.

Agree to Disagree?
