Hey guys, Last night I emailed Tanabe about some stuff on their US website, and today I received a reply, which is quoted below.
QUOTE | Okay,
Sorry about the confusion on the chassis codes, our website is still under development and some of the chassis codes may be incorrect.
We are still in the R&D stage for producing parts for the 94-99 Celica. First week of October, we will be doing another round of R&D and performing the final test fitting of our springs.
The swaybars are still in prototype stage and the tentative date for test fitting for those is early November. Our swaybars are chromoly construction and come with replacement bushings, as well as brackets on certain applications. I’m anticipating the diameter for the front to be from 27-30.4mm with the rear being 20-24mm.
The coil overs are already in production in limited numbers in Japan, but are not available in the US currently. If they are pre-ordered, they will be available as early as October.
All parts will fit the US 94-99 Celica.
Basically, availability will be as follows:
Sustec Pro S-0C - October (with September pre-order)
Sustec Pro S-0C Type II - October (with September pre-order)
NF210 - October
GF210 - October
DF210 - October
Sustec Stabilizer (F+R) - December – January
Super Medalion Hyper - TBA (poss January)
Super Medalion Racing - TBA (poss January)
We were able to achieve a 6.7whp gain (Turbo Magazine) on the '00+ Celica with the Super Medalion Racing and I believe we have plans on developing a catback exhaust system for the 94-99 Celica.
We will be in need of quality test cars for our R&D team, and if you have any stock vehicles in good condition around the South Bay Los Angeles/Torrance area, please give us a call. |
This is great news! Tanabe is producing parts that will be available in the US for our cars! If your car is stock and in good condition, you're located in the South Bay Los Angeles/Torrance area, and you'd be interested in helping Tanabe out with research and development, please PM me or email me, and include information about your car, where you're located, contact information(like an email address and phone number so Tanabe can get a hold of you), and photos if possible. You may get your car dynoed for free or get discounts or free parts, but I'm not sure yet. I emailed Tanabe back and I'm waiting for their reply still.
