Man! Why does Cali get so screwed on gas prices? that's a full dollar more than what we're paying here in Houston and I'm talking premium for me - low grade is still under $4 at good stations.

I am going to take a wild guess and say because...

1) higher Taxes on gas in Cali?!?!
and/or
2) some of it has to travel from the Atlantic through Panama and they increase the cost to cover transportation?!?

Shell V-Power (95 octane) NZD$2.15/Litre (NZD$8.13/US Gallon) works out to about USD$6.12/Gallon

If it's up to 5 bucks in America at the moment, that equates to NZD$1.75/Litre which I haven't seen since late Feb - early March

Man! Why does Cali get so screwed on gas prices?

It's just us lower states. Because folks like us, and florida, have a little thing called "The Gulf of Mexico" & in Texas, we have "Texas Tea" wink.gif

We have oil, and Fcuking Obama dont wanna go mine the oil right off of florida mad.gif Says' it'll take up to 5 years for it to effect gas prices.

THEN WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?!?! In 5 Years gas will be like $20/gal mad.gif mad.gif mad.gif We need to start planning for the future.

Atleast then when i'm old i can afford to drive my car to the store and buy something too. And how am i gunna teach my Daughter to drive if i cant afford to drive myself?

This is getting outta control...

[/bitching & ranting]

EDIT: on a positive note, especially for Texans: We are mining our oil. I say we exercise our right and succeed from the us, drop our gas prices back down to $1.00/gal and sell the rest for $20/barrel cheaper than the middle east. wink.gif We'll be rich!! laugh.gif

On Topic now - $4.23 this morning to the tune of a $65 fill-up (runnin' on fumes, mind you). I'm ready to go against the grain of my stereotypical and relatively leftist ideaology and contact my local Representative in support of off-shore drilling. FCUK OPEC COUNTRIES! Mark it on your calendars, I think this might just be the third time in 8 years I've agreed with Dubya. Too bad Pelosi is just as much of a dictator and it'll never pass.
