I'm looking to add some bump and upgrade parts of my cars audio system. I currently have the 8 spekaer premium system, but don't know if I should replace all the speakers or if I should upgrade some and cut a few out...
First off, the bass. Because I have a convertible, I don't know if it would be better to get a set of 8" door subs, or get a nice 12" or dual 10's in the trunk (as far as sound loss because a convertible is so open). If I end up getting a trunk set-up (most likely) then what do you guys recommend I put in the 8" hole? I was thinking a set of components with the mid's mounted in the 8" hole would work nicely. If I go that route, then what should I do with the 4" opening? I was planning on getting a 4 ch amp to run the components up front and a new set of 6.5" in the rear, but don't know what to do with the 4" hole. Would another set of 4" speakers running off the deck be too much? For those of you with the 8 speaker system, what did you do and why?
