OK so, I swapped my injectors out, but now have a massive air leak coming from the rail itself not being seated properly. I'm not 100% sure of how many/what o-rings/spacers/insulators are needed to properly RnR the rail, so does anyone have a diagram of the rail/injectors and ALL the parts needed to RnR it, and where which parts should go?
I did the 2 bigger o-rings on the injectors themselves when they were out, but that was it. For parts I have to order from toyota I have: 23291-75010 x 8 (injector insulator/FR cushion) 23845-88380 x 4 FR to head insulator 90561-08032 x 3 FR spacer Would that be all? I just want to make sure I get everything the first time. This post has been edited by 6gsillyca: Jun 3, 2008 - 10:42 PM |

Sounds like you ripped one of the four o-rings between the head and rail. Take out the rail, buy new o-rings put a little oil on them and carefully reinstall the rail.
you ripped one of these 23845-88380 x 4 FR to head insulator -------------------- ![]() I will return one day. |

Is there any sort of diagram on the bgb of all of these parts and where they go?
When I took my old injectors out I'm not 100% sure of which o-rings/insulators were supposed to go where, as some got knocked off when I took the old rail out. I am going to order all 3 sets, just because I would rather have them and not need them, but do not know where everything goes. Def, Where are the o-rings you are talking about? Where do they attach to the fuel rail? This post has been edited by 6gsillyca: Jun 3, 2008 - 10:33 PM |

3 sets will set you back about 60bucks, so I dont know if thats a good idea.
Each injector has 2 o-rings if i remember correctly. Your supposed to lube them up with something like wd40, and slide them into the rail. Then once thats done, the rail itself has these big/thick oring/gaskets that go on the tip of each injector, and provide a seal between the rail and the head. Check the bgb, there is a whole section on it. This post has been edited by lagos: Jun 3, 2008 - 11:15 PM -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

Def, Where are the o-rings you are talking about? Where do they attach to the fuel rail? They are the 4 O-rings between the rail and the head. They sit on the rail at the tip of each injector. If you have an air leak in that area, you ripped one of those o-rings. -------------------- ![]() I will return one day. |

Ok thanks guys. I'm not actually sure if I put those back on, so I will check that forsure.
Lagos, $60 for the 3 sets? The prices I pulled off mr2oc (along with the P/N) listed each o-ring @ 50-60/each. 8+4+3 = 15 * .50= $7.5 Even if you add a set of the 2 o-rings that go on the actual injector *should* still be >$20 for everything. Do dealerships really mark the $.50 piece to THAT much? I will call around tomorrow Alright so I was finally able to access the bgb (seems to be bogging down alot lately with bandwidth restrictions), and I think I know which parts go where now. I'm pretty sure I forgot to reinstall the insulators on the bottom of the injector, and when I installed the o-ring, I just rolled/stretched them down the side of the injector. They did not have any visible tears, but I don't want to need to tear it down again. Should it be ok? This post has been edited by 6gsillyca: Jun 4, 2008 - 1:47 AM |

Thanks Dustin. Just what I was looking for.
I don't think I reinstalled the o-rings Def posted up, so I will tear it down again and have a look. I had deleted the metal plate (23261) as Art said it was only used to run a vacuum line, but it appears as it may be an injector hold down. It also looks like it goes on the rail before it gets bolted to the head, which would make things 10x easier. 2 last questions: Do I need 2 sets of (4) 23291-75010 as the pic shows one on the top and bottom of the injector. Where is P/N 90561-08032 - FR spacer (3). I cannot seem to find it on the diagram. Just ordered everything up, as well as both TB gaskets, and it came to a grand total of $65. So Thats not too bad. Now the injector insulators are coming out of Japan, and may take 2+ weeks, so would I be ok to run w/o them for a bit? What exactly do they do? hold up, that's a USDM diagram.
It should be the same as the JDM but later tonight when I get home I'll post up the JDM diagram just in case of any differences. -------------------- |
