so i swapped out my engine and transmission this past weekend. the original was an auto 7a, and i put in a manual 7a. the manual originally did not have cruise, while the auto chassis did.

im thinking its possibly one of the connections from the auto shifter that look to see its in gear

btw, cruise light comes on and stays on like always

edit: spelling

well the cruise control in a manual is different than auto.

I think there is also a senson involved in the clutch, that everytime you press on it, disengages it. I dont know what other differences can be also. the cruise computer may be different.

I dont know waht other differences at the top of my head exists, but you may have to look for the diagrams for both, and then get the parts you are missing.

ok ok i have started to figure this out

on an auto a signal is sent through the neutral safety switch to pin 2 on the cruise control ECU. and when this signal is not present the ecu kills the cruise
while on an auto there is a switch at top of the clutch that connects this same signal to the same pin of the cruise ecu

the cruise ecu to engine ecu is the same for both auto and manual
so its safe to assume that the only thing i need to do is find a way to wire up that switch, or simply bypass it

BTW every connector on the body harness is there for the auto to manual and ever other feature i've observed
i found the clutch start switch while installing the clutch pedal. the brackets and everything were installed on the wire already smile.gif
i LOVE mass production biggrin.gif

k, cool, but dont forget some have a cruise killer if you depress the clutch. it might come in handy, since if you depress the clutch youll be having to disengage it or well whatever you know what i mean. glad you sorted it out.

yeah i know what you mean. lol
where that disengage switch should be on my clutch pedal bracket, there is just a bolt. i might see iff it works when i simply short the two pins of the conector that would plug into this switch, if i had one. and if that works, ill go ahead and attempt to find a part number for said switch.

alright, so this switch WAS the problem, and i now have cruise. i simply bypassed the cruise clutch sw. ill buy one soon.
its a blue plug attached to the clutch start sw wire. just short the two pins and you'll be fine

or if thats not possible for some reason you could also, on the cruise ECU, short pins 2 and 14 together and youll get the "safe" signal anytime the cruise light is on.
