Right now I'd bank on the same 2.0mp - it wasn't mentioned in the keynote.

From Engadget:
QUOTE
Thinner edges, full plastic back, flush headphone jack, and the iPhone 2.0 firmware -- Apple's taking a lot of the criticisms to heart from the first time around. Obviously 3G is at the forefront, but they're also making sure it's available all over internationally, works with enterprises, runs 3rd party apps... and does it all for cheaper. Apple claims its 3G speeds trounce the competition, with pageloads 36% faster than the N95 and Treo 750 -- and of course it completely trounces the old EDGE data. Battery life isn't getting put out to pasture though, with 300 hours of standby, 8-10 hours of 2G talk, 5 hours of 3G talk, 7 hours of video and 24 hours of audio. GPS is also a go. Apple is using A-GPS, which supplements regular satellite GPS data with info from cellular towers. WiFi data is also worked into the mix, which should give users a pretty solid lock on where the heck they are on this planet. Unfortunately, there's no front-facing cam, which syncs with what we were hearing, but is still a little disappointing. Apple hopes to launch in 70 countries this year. 8GB is available for $199, 16GB for $299 -- and the 16GB comes in white. Apple will be hitting the 22 biggest markets, including the US, on July 11th. Pre-orders are available now at the Apple Store.

Can this one send picture messages? Also, I hope it can do GPS without having to use cellphone triangulation. Otherwise, you'll need a data plan just for GPS, which is lame.

Personally I rarely use the camera on any phone. I like the phone for all of it's other capabilities. If I use the camera its because I want to show my friends something or record something funny etc. For REAL picture taking I have a digital camera.

Good question - I would want to say yes, but I'm thinking no because this will still have the 2.0 firmware that the current iPhone will be on.

well most people like any pictures they take to look good. Most of the time i don't want a camera AND a phone with me.

If it is 2MP, that's poor. thumbsdown.gif

No flash either thumbsdown.gifthumbsdown.gif

It is now also available in white.

Its def. only a 2mp camera. This is disappointing, but won't keep me from getting it.

Id consider it if the gps in good, and I can use t-mobil.
It would save me from having to carry multiple gadgets to do what i want.

This is just the phone. Everythings a little different with the iPhone. When I went to get one, in a AT&T store, they basically just gave it to me. I had to go home and activate it through iTunes and thats where I chose what plan etc. All of that other stuff is AT&Ts business, not Apples. So no, there will be an activation fee as there will be with any new contract.

You'll want to wait til it gets Unlocked. Or you can pick up an Edge iPhone for cheap ($100 is what I'm selling mine for.)

I love what they're doing with that phone, but I'm perfectly fine with my technology behind Nokia which I got for free when I signed up at Tmobile plus they gave me a money back...

As a product designer myself, i acknowledge some of the good design from apple, but there are a lot of things that i would improve.

little things like: that will not stand up on it's edge for taking timed photo's (which it probably can't do anyway) or just to sit on a surface so you can watch a movie without holding it.
