I know this may sound "rookie" but I've never noticed this from my car in the 6 months I've owned it. After I parked my car this evening, I heard that car tick a few times like "after" you turn it off and it ticks a couple times while cooling (I guess)...except my car was still idling. Of course after I turned it off, it still did it. What's up with that? I thought it only happened after the car was turned off, not while running.

its everything settling from all the heat....the frame, and everything around it....most cars if not all do it...espically larger ones like trucks..completely normal...if it sounds like it doesnt want to shut off and sputter when you turn the key off then its bad gas

I think ive read the sound mostly comes from the catalytic converter just cooling down.

After a hard drive its more noticeable from my car.
