That was me that posted that link...Unfortunately I wasn't there (obviously) frown.gif. But the other picture of the cars making the Toyota sign would be pretty awesome for the cover imo. If that is possible. (maybe not since I doubt the people at that meet are on here much..if at all...)

If this is official, i think we should step back, take a breath and start a new thread and get people submitting again.
You guys will get 10x more photos submitted if its official. I might even have a few to contribute. smile.gif

Agreed also if the deadline can be held off until the first of Oct. there are a few meets taking place
which make for great photo ops. CSP is a huge meet and lots of pics are always taken, also at least a few of
us west coasters are meeting in a couple of weeks as well.

As always, if any of the details are incorrect or you believe you have submitted something for the calendar but it isn't in the above list please drop me a PM or an email with the details. Thanks for all the submissions so far.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I see coomers quote in the other thread that suggests we can have an official calendar this year - awesome news!

So what is going on here? Does everyone want to start again from scratch with a new submission and voting thread? I haven't received any submissions since 9th September - everyone is waiting for clarification.

A number of you have PMed me about taking this project over. I've been really clear that I don't want to step on BSDavey's toes or create any drama. With the support of the 6gc members, I respectfully ask BSDavey for permission to hand the project over to me at this point, as it appears I have less of a life wink.gif and thus more time to devote to this.

Here's where I'm at with it as of today. I've found a way to have these made on an as-ordered basis so no one actually had to go directly through me; once the calendar is available for sale, they will be shipped within 24 hours of placing the order. They will be full color, full bleed spiral bound 11" x 17" and will cost $24.95 plus shipping (about five bucks for shipping in the US, a little more for Int'l.) If you order them in multiples (say the whole Houston crew wants to go in and have them all shipped to one presumably not floated away location) there are quantity discounts that increase in percentage with the qty. ordered. 2-11=5% off, 12-49=10%, etc.

I feel very strongly that images that will appear in the calendar shall be chosen by poll, but I will dictate which images will go into that poll, to be determined solely by using my professional judgment as to whether or not the image is viable for print or not. Having almost 15 years of experience as a graphic designer, I feel that more than qualifies me to make this assessment. If I feel there is an image that is not suitable for print, I will contact the person who submitted it and request a higher resolution image. If one cannot be provided, it will not be considered for publication. Once that assessment is made, my decisions will be final and not open for discussion. I'm not going to produce crap so someone's feelings don't get hurt. I'm nice, but I'm hard core when it comes to putting my name behind something. If you don't like it, don't buy a calendar. wink.gif

Here are a few screen shots with EXAMPLES of how it might look. I chose these images to use for demo purposes only; they are in no way to imply that ANY decision or selection process has occurred at this juncture in time. It is not a final design BY ANY STRETCH (particularly the cover!). It's just something to look at for now.

I'd really like some feedback on this and to make sure that not only do I have BloodyStupidDavey's support on this, but the forum community's support as well.

Thanks guys!
-Griffy

I agree 100% Griff should take this over, she is a regular member, always available
and it is very much along the same lines as her career. She is a pro. The calendar has
been appoved by Coomer and it should have been approved before a un official thread was started.
I for one think Griffgirl should start the official thread and it should go from there. If BSD still
wants to do a calendar, go for it but, I personally am submitting to the official one. For future
reference Davey, get authorization prior to starting stuff like this.
