for those selling your car. mine was on autotrader beware of this scam. they tried to get me but forutunatley i got notified by some freids and read about it on the mr2 forums. you may get an email somethign like this

"Hello,
Thanks for your response,i really appreciate. The
price$7,000.00 is okay by me,and as regards shipping of
the car, i have a shipping agent who takes care of all
my shipping consignment,so do not worry yourself about
that.
Meanwhile i contacted my creditor today concerning
the payment and she told me that before next week runs
out,she should have sent the payment,She also said
that she will be sending the whole of the money i
borrowed her so you will be expecting a payment that
is higher than the cost of the car and the excess
should be set aside for my shipping agent for the
shippment of the car and other logistics.
If this arrangement is okay by you,do let me know so
that i can instruct her to go ahead with the payment
next week. Also send me your contact informations on
where payment can be sent to. Thanks.
Richard Boil.

basicaly he tells you he is gonna send more than the price of the car......and that you need to wire the extra to a shiping companys account but what happens is you end up wiring the money and then his check doesnt clear. therefore you are just out of the money you wired to the "shipping" company. he tries to instill false trust in you by sendng you more money than you are asking and than states some false reason why you need to wire the money to the shipping company false. when you do this his original check is going to bounce and then you will be out of that money. here is the link on the mr2 forums( you need a login and pass to view)

be careful: what i'ma do is be like ok. send me the check. and once i get the check i'm going to depostit it and then tell him that I cant send out any money until the check clears. i'm gonna double check like a million times to make sure it clears if it actualy does and then at that point i'll send the "shipping" company there money and where to come pick it up at.

i pesronaly wouldnt. but....i can somewhat see people getting fooled by this guy. i mean he sends you like $5k more than you need so he is kinda installing a false trust in you. also some banks actualy "show" the money in your account even before the check clears so you may think everything is alright b/c its showing up.

just trying to help people out though.
