So here are a few common words that people (strangers) use (sometimes mistakenly) when describing my car(s):
Wing: aka spoiler, word used by moms/dads/grandmas/uncool uncles when describing an aerodynamic device placed (primarily) on the rear of a vehicle to reduce lift and increase downforce Souped/suped up: outdated terminology used to describe the practice of tuning one's car for higher performance; commonly misused to describe ricer cars which only have cosmetic enhancements Slammed: adjective used to described a car that has been modified to lower its suspension Boost: Positive manifold pressure RICE: Acronym which describes a "rider in cheap(ass) equipment"; expensive cars are not immune to "rice" status And here are some words what I've learned since watching Initial D: Curve: A turn in the road Corner: Another term for a curve; more commonly used by drifters/street racers Turn: To maneuver a vehicle around a corner Attack: An aggressive turn; commonly used by drifters/street racers This post has been edited by CAMAricer: Jun 29, 2008 - 8:33 PM -------------------- ![]() ![]() 2002 SC430 (WC) - 19" SSR Comp-H, Daizen swaybars, Sparco Demons, JDM Soarer conversion, carbon fiber spoiler, Injen intake, front strut bar, drilled/slotted Brembo rotors 1997 Celica ST (DD) - 17" ADR, ViS Zyclone CF hood, ViS CF hatch, K&N intake, Invader body kit |
