Ok I'm trying to figure out what car this piece came from.

To my best guess this is a headlight washer nozzle housing that resides on the bumper of a larger vehicle (truck/suv)

try and figure out what car it came from, I thought it might have been an X3/X5 but it appears they have ones that are more rounded.

looks like a lisence plate light bulb cover to me (cause of its size and shape,) which means it can be any car/truck/transformer etc. take it to a shop and have them match the paint color to a factory paint code, then you can go to a dealer and have them tell you what it is.

came from the front of the vehicle so no dice. Plus its not a car its a truck/suv

paint analysis is a interesting idea though.

Came across this pic, although I don't see a cut out on either side of those. Could be missing a piece that fits in there?

That looks like a Subaru silver to me, maybe something off an Outback?

Edit: Forester. I meant Forester.

Or Nissan Armada?

Edit: just saw your post about the angles. Actually that's why I'm guessing the Nissan. Googling an image of it, it has very similar angles/lines that would conform to this mysterious little piece of plastic you've acquired.

Just wanted to say thanks to you guys.

And especially Super since he was in confirmation of my assumption.

I got a call from the police up in MD (on my way home from Baltimore back to DC) Apparently the guy who hit me admitted it to his lawyer.
The cops then called and left a VM and I called them back. They said they got him, my only question was what car was he driving...

BMW X3....
