The 7AFE never came with a 6 spd transmission. The 4AGE 20v Blacktop engine comes with the 6 spd.

As far as putting an A-series transmission on to an S-series engine (read 3SGTE), I don't think it would work.

I'm not even sure what you mean.

at takakaira.com, they listed an hks 6spd manual tranny for like $6,000. im not sure what all of the applications are but i know they make a 3sge tranny.

btw, has anybody ordered from takakaira. im interested in some of their parts but I dont know anything about them. are they a pain in the ass to deal with because of their location?

My dear... Like i sat, the 7th generation gearbox wil fit the 7afe perfectly.
If you go to your toyota dealer and let them look up the tranny numbers, they are the same.

The G6 TOYOTA COROLLA '97 - '99 olso has the same tranny and also wil fit the 7afe motor.

The 6-speed tranny is no overdrive ( the 6th gear is the same as the 5th gear in the 5-speed tranny), it does not increse horsepower and will handel the same as the 5-speed tranny.

But it's faster shifting and you can say, ive got a 6-speed!!!

I'll look into it...however...those models of the Corolla had the 3zzfe motor...which shares a nearly identical block to the 2zzge motor (it's a bit shorter bore and stroke...1.6 liters I believe)... so It's not too surprising to me.

The 6 speed, I'd say, will slightly improve acceleration because being 6 speeds, it has shorter and better gearing than 7AFE 5 speed trannies...

Bad informantion! Shenanigans! That's like saying my 7afe tranny will bolt up to a 3sgte.... or the tranny from a B-18 will bolt to my 7a because they are both 1.8l!

Sorry, if you could't tell, I don't believe you. Where's charlie or Kuya when you need a good thrashing....
