Some of my recent experience here prompts me to offer the following advice:

1. Honesty

If you advertise something for sale, be honest with the description. I just bought something described as being "in great condition" and it's really just barely passable. And I'm being charitable. Pictures are not always helpful, depending on the item. Be honest and realistic. The buyer is neither blind nor stupid.

2. Courtesy

If you post an item for sale or wanted, have the courtesy of returning PMs. I don't mean you have to respond in 2 minutes, but if you don't respond in a week, or ever, that's just rude. If you don't want to respond to PMs, state so in your ad.

Let's try to all behave like adults. Thanks.

There was more than one case and no I did not leave feedback. I was never outright cheated, so I don't want to start a flaming war where I say the item was in bad shape and the other person says it was wonderful.

This is a friendly forum and I want to keep it that way. I want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, within limits. More so than I would with a complete stranger on eBay. All I ask is that people play nice and be honest and reasonable.

There are a couple things I'd do here. First, I'd ask for detailed photos before handing over any money. And second, I'd leave honest feedback...if it doesn't arrive as promised, let everyone know by saying that when leaving feedback.
