What is this?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2435172048

I have seen similar things like the tornado on www.turbonator.com. Those look too good to be true. The ebay one looks different too. Can somebody fill me in? Thanks

It is too good to be true. There's a previous post about this. I think it was decided that this is bad for your motor...

It sounds really good.... Creapy.... I wonder if it would really hurt the engine to just use it every now and then for race applications.... I read the webpage turbotine or whatever and it sounds awsome... and fake...

Lemme explain...

Electric turbos area waste of time... It takes up power, and at higher rpms...say 3K+ it creats heavy restriction. For one, a typical Intake on a typical car can suck up as much as 300+cfm at medium throttle. It's nothing but a gimmick. Ask look up old posts in the "Aftermarket Modification" forums on celica.net. Conrad_Turbo has posted a lot about these products.

Agreed=useless The best alternative turbo I've seen is the "hydralic turbo." It runs on a closed circuit hydro tube propelled by the engine=major possibilities.

You got a link for this? I can not imagine it being any good!

The only one I have seen that holds ANY promise is the ERAM:
http://www.electricsupercharger.com/

but for that price, just save up for a light pressure turbo system.

This is not a turbo and 8,000 is a lot for an electric DC motor with such a rapid centripetal acceleration.

I think it is a waste of money, as an exhaust provides better gains, and a turbo is way, way better bang for the buck.
