I want to get my car dyno tuned with the safc II and see how hard the car will run if I lean I out the fuel a little. I am running pig rich at WOT and I think its killing the cars performance.

Now I know if I start leaning things out with the fpr I am at risk.

Question for you Lagos, are you running with a FPR when you tuned the 3s with the safc?

But I do also want water injection. Now both the fpr and the water injection kit is around the same price and I can only do one.

Which one should I do?

Keep in mind, with what ever you guys think I should chose I will get it dyno tuned after the mod.

will do boss. So you would choose WI over the fpr to finely tune the car? Even with WI, I'll still be running pig rich. But WI will lower engine temp so I can more boost, so technically I can tune it still and lean it out and have the WI to help against knock?

sounds like you are picking the band-aid over a complete fix.

fix the fueling issue first then move on with modifications.

I'm only running 10 psi, because of the winter here. I was spiking up to like 20 psi, but I lowered it to 10 and havent spiked. I did set it for 15psi during the summer. And thats how much I plan to run every day except for winter.

why are you spiking to 20psi?
what kind of boost controller do you have?

most guys only see 2-3psi increase in the cold weather, no?

i know my setup goes up ~2psi in the colder weather. it was set ~14 or so at the end of summer, now i see ~15 - almost 16..

its some mbc I bought. It looks homemade. To be honest I had it set at 15 during the summer and once winter hit and temps dropped to 30 degrees it shot up to 20. But now it stays solidly at 10psi. I did have it at 8psi, until it was no fun so I turned it up a little.

yea, it will always go up some in cold weather, but damn 5psi is alot.

set it in 4th on the highway, in cold weather, and you'll be fine. wink.gif

So water injection it is. Does it really matter if I have the tank/pump in the trunk or in the engine bay?

To be honest I don't even think it matters that much. Yes the cooler it is the better, but come on.

naa,...some guys use the washer tank for a resivour, so i wouldnt see it as a problem...
just be sure to mount the pump under the tank, wherever you decide to mount it.

get it, up the boost, and enjoy the fun!!!
