Well after lots of pain to fit, wire up, tune, fine tune, i still have some more works to complete:(
Thats life, n as ive invested much money in that project i have no choice but to face the troubles...

As u can imagine, since ive moved that huge engine (3sgte st-205) into that limited space of the Rav4, i have
to make sure each space is being used efficiently. My main problem: my clutch is slipping. I opted for the exedy tri-puck semi racing clutch, hope ive made the right choice (will install it next week).

The BIG problem now is that i could not keep the original air filter box (too big). Is it ok to use the KnN pre oiled direct air filter? Ive learnt that HKS filter is not that safe coz after some time it might desintegrate and get stuck into the turbo.

There is a plug that came into the original air filter box, i think it is used to measure the amount of air intake and since am not using the black box i dont know where am going to plug it plz HELP!!!!

How about the original BOV which came with the box? Should i replace it? It is not being used as a recirculating anymore, but i feel that it cant hold all the turbo pressure. Its too soft. Am i gona loose power if i use another BOV? how can i get it to be a recirculating one with a direct air filter?

PLZ help me...thnx smile.gif

get a new BOV, have it come off the IC just like the stock one, recirc it if you want.

I used a 3" K&N filter on a 3" pipe, then to a 3" to 2 3/4 reducer to go to the turbo. On the pipe I drilled a hole and used the stock grommet from the airbox and put the AIT sensor there.

not the best pics but only ones with this set up.

or you could use the stock hose from the turbo, then 3" pipe to filter and drill and grommet for the AIT sensor like this pic
(also I recirced in this pic)

I take it from what you say that we are talking 3rd Gen motor here? Listen to Batman - he knows what he's talking about.

Thnxxx
Handling is ok with sporty Tein shock absorbers. But since ive fitted this engine i can feel the heavy weight of the new engine. I love roundabouts;)

Nice looking Rav....

If I were you I would fit a straight intake if you have room with a cold air box (3sgte`s dont like warm air) I would also remove the pipe that goes to the turbo inlet pipe...this just sucks oil vapour into the intake and will reduce the power a little....oil vapour reduces the octaine rating of the petrol...just put a small breather filter on the standard catch can....you`ll instantly notice the difference.

Thnx !! Yes i will try to make room for that cold air intake, ur right. well if i replace it with a small breather, then y did they put that black box to which its connected? y does it need to suck oil?
I mean is it not risky for the engine?

hehehe will have to work on that!!! But for now my bank account is no more lol so i have to work a lot first, then get the $ to start by modifying the bumper:(
The front mount gives definitely much more power than air - water?

No its not risky for the engine. the black box is an oil catch can which has a pipe on the bottom of it to feed oil back to the sump....the only reason that its fed into the intake is that the only emission that a car is allowed is from the exhaust.

What Oil? there is no oil to dispose of????..there is a feed pipe on the bottom of the catch can that goes to the sump. The oil is already back in the system
