im doing some custom fiberglass molding for a boost gauge and im asking my question in the "forced induction" forum instead of the "interior forum" because most of you in the boosted forum have these gauges.... please dont flame me for posting in the wrong section.
mods, if this truly belongs in the interior section/ please accept my apology* my question is about the 52mm sized boost gauge, how long is it? im asking about the side profile length of the gauge... like i said, its a fiberglass project and i need some numbers to work with how long the gauge tube needs to be... ive been told i need to make the gauge pod 3in deep to accommodate a boost gauge, just wanted a few opinions is there a particular brand that is shorter that others? heres a teaser pic, of my first attempt ...i learned alot my first go with FG, the 2nd attempt should be better/ i know how i want it to look now ![]() -------------------- |

It depends on the brand of gauge you plan to put in there. Mechanical gauges tend to be longer, while electronic ones are normally shorter.
The premium prosports I have are only 1.25in thick, so I would say its fair to assume normal ones would be around 3in. http://prosportgauges.com/premium_series_p...ing_gauges.aspx -------------------- 15PSI - 30MPG - Megasquirt Tuned

Most autometer electrics I've seen are between 1.75 to 2.5 inches long.
