You may be able to clean it and put it back on, so that you don't have to replace it.

It's in Seattle - they've instructed the owner of said Rav4 to go to one of the "approved" shops to have it "fixed". Sounds like a little RACKETEERING to me!

Rookie move lol.... yeah this might work but you may also want to check the vaccum modulater next to the egr when that fails it makes it seem like its the egr.....you would want to apply vaccum to that while holding the the egr to see if the operates.... but you can try that but I'm just letting you know what it could also be
