has anyone thought about one of these shifters. Im doing an engine swap and auto to manual swap this summer and thought it would be neat to shift just straight back in stead of all over the place. Do these shifters have to be custom made for your car. Would you need a drag sequential gearbox to go with it, i dunno i have no ideal. if it is not possible or too much work, ill just settle with a regular short shifter.

here is an example of the inline shifter I was talking about

more so referred to as a sequential shifter (you have to pass through every gear going up and down) its not suggested at all for DD

(Tufy's stuff)

Finally after waiting 8 months, i recived my custom straight cut dog eng. gear kit. i think with this kit, celica will be no longer a daily drive, only a weekend car.
because there is no gear kits or seq shifter for our cars (excp fensport), all is custom made by
www.sqsracing.com

there was one other shifter developed

produced by Ikeya Japan, it was never put into production, but there was a prototype.

Also known as "dogbox". I have seen just one (yes that one Tufy had in car... as I know he removed it)

the "DOG BOX" is the actual type of transmission engagement.
options are "dog box" or "syncro"

more info: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=665334

the shifter is not called a dog box.
