I had an oil change the other day and the guy changing the oil spilled some on top of my valve cover. Anyway I assumed he cleaned it up cause I saw him wipe some away.

Yesterday I noticed after driving the car, some oil was on the valve cover and some around the spark plug rubber caps. I cleaned all of it off thinking the guy just missed some.

Today I noticed more so I popped out the spark plug rubber caps and the spark tube was dry but there was oil under the rubber cap 'on' the valve cover (just not in the tube. What's up with that? Any ideas? Is it just a spill and left over residue or what? I just had my head fully rebuilt.

if its not down in the tube, its prolly just left over from spills.

The head rebuild came with a complete seal and gasket set so they are new. Properly installed? How do I tell?

Yeah, no oil in the tubes so it shoud be good like you said then. I meant to check it out this morning after making a quick trip but I forgot to check to see if there was anymore after I thoroughly cleaned up what I saw.
