Need new rotors Options

hit up local autoparts store and order house brand drilled and slotted, sorry to say from my experience, a house brand lordco drilled and slotted rotor (87$ front, 119$rear) and exactly the same as brembo's drilled and slotted (137$ front, 192$ rear) rotor aside from the lack of BREMBO being stamped on it.

Pads are certainly a different story

what kind of rotors should you get, like what material, are those ebay ones good or average or what because I too am looking for new rotors / brake pads and I am clueless as to what would be a good buy. What type of brake pads should I get to, can anyone link me?

well all depends, what is exactly are you lo looking for, durability, great brake "bite", racing style....

if you want more "bite" the main science is on the pads you will going to buy, the rotors also make a big influence on this, I'll recommend you first read about different kind of pads and the use for each one, then based on the pads you can move then to the rotors...

I hear good stuff regarding Hawk pads, I installed some on another car (grand am) and they feel really good. I got the Hawk HPS pads. Now on my celi i'm runnin EBC OE pads, I'd stay away from these as they have ALOT of brake dust (my rims look brown after a week).

As far as rotors are concerned, I'm runnin' D/S rotors I got off of ebay. people will tell you to stay away from these because the drilled holes can cause the rotor to crack. I've had mine for a while with no issues tho. Also, not sure how true this is but I recently went to a tire shop and they told me that they cannot turn my rotors because they are D/S and I would have to get new ones when its time. They weren't 100% sure and said they would need to actually look at the rotors to tell but chances are they wouldn't be able to.

oem, if you don't care about looks (rust) but want the long life.

and just get higher performance pads for better 'bite'

I don't have basis prove of cracking rotors that have holes on it, so I'm doing some research cuz' I need to change mines, one thing that I can say for sure is that the Rotors with holes one it will dissipate more heat than the solid ones, and the slotted ones will help for the pads dust or any other, both will be better ? who knows, some people say yes some other say no.

bottom line from my perspective, both, drill and slotted are good for the braking, both will dissipate head, remove dust and water....

now for the drill, these can make it more wake, BUT only if you abuse of them, otherwise for daily driving will be good...

for the slotted one makes the same thing s the drill ones with the lightly difference of the "weakness" made by the drills, by other hand if you choose the slotted ones and you use normal pads you will be changing more often, this because of the slotted on the rotors.

so you can pick either of too but you will need more "durable" pads like ceramic.
