I can not figure out what is going wrong here. My car was running fine until I had put it up for a few months to replace the oil pump, timing belt, water pump.
When I put it back on the road it seemed like the throw out bearing was a bit dry because it was somewhat noisier than I remembered. After driving the car on and off a few days, everything was back to normal sounding. After a few weeks of driving, and on my way home one night I got to a stop light. I pressed the clutch pedal down and tried to put the car in neutral but it would not come out of gear. A hard pull on the shifter would not even do it. I quickly shut the car down and it came right out of gear. I started the car back up and was able to put it into gear and start driving. Shifting up into second and third gear was not easy, it did not want to go into gear, I got it to go in but it seemed like I was forcing it. I ran it back and forth in the driveway and got some really mixed results. Sometimes it would go right in, other times it would not. Sometimes it would not come out gear. Other times it seemed like the clutch would be at the bottom of the pedal. So I let the car sit for a few weeks and now I am stumpted as to what to do. I do not see any leaks around the master cylinder or the slave. Mike |
