QUOTE (spy00005 @ May 1, 2012 - 7:36 PM) *
awesome info very detailed know what to expect even if its somewhat diffrent and even answered quest i forgot to ask like the m/t or a/t and top speed. if i can get it to 60 ill really feel how it is i normally drive since i commute to work and back doing around 60-65. and when i sat behind the wheel at the NY auto show to me it felt alot like sitting behind the wheel of my celica. just one more thing could you use the paddle shifters the a/t version comes with or is it full auto i mean still great to just get the feel of the car even if its the auto version im def looking forward to it. awesome pics cool vid.

We were allowed to run it full automatic or with the paddle shifters - it was at the driver's discretion. Most of the guys used it full auto the first run and paddle shifted the second. I stayed full auto since that's how I'd run it as a DD but I'd prefer to use the paddles once I buy one.

I've driven some newer vehicles and the steering feel (when they have feeling) is so light and noncommunicative its frustrating; the FR-S on the other hand feels like my Celica from my time in the seat. I felt immediately comfortable with pushing the car and that was a welcome realization considering how nervous I was prior to getting behind the wheel - I've never driven a RWD car before. You may feel differently but I felt like the FR-S was just a modernized 6GC - newer electronics and body but that same cozy, driver-oriented cockpit and nimbleness but with the right wheels turning and a livelier, more pleasing engine than the 5SFE. It's like a modern BEAMS.

after owning a rwd, you realize how much years you waste owning a fwd. i loved my celica & it got me to school and work and back while looking good on the road, but rwd is where the fun is.
the only reason i would go fwd again would be if i needed the fuel economy.

^Or a winter car. RWD with traction control should be ok though. I would've gone with a RWD if it weren't for needing good mpg primarily. Would like to get a small RWD car for a fun car soon. If I had the money the FR-S would be awesome to have. Would be a hard decision between it and the Genesis or Camaro.

Now we just wait and let them depreciate. tongue.gif Also by then there should be all kinds of aftermarket for it. Tein already has coil overs, springs, bushings, etc... for it. Wonder if they'll release one with the STI engine...

8 pages already, damn. So they're available now. Last I checked the Scion site didn't have all the info, I noticed the Subaru site did though.
