Someone at my work is selling his 1 yr old snow/tire rims with this description

"Set of 4 Bridgestone 225/55R16 Blizzak WS60 studless snow tires with black steel rims for sale. Great condition, used only one season, sold the car, now need to sell the snow tires. $200"

I'm pretty sure the 2000 gts rims are 205/50/r16 5x100 bolt patter, so before i pull the trigger on this great deal i wanted to be sure that the 225 wouldn't be an issue with width, Anyone's thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated! I also asked the seller for the bolt pattern to make sure that wouldn't be an issue either.

You are correct,
the 7th gen GTS wheels are 205s, having 225s on there would look.... really funny.... Double check with him to make sure that this isn't a misprint first. I would go 215 at the largest on these wheels.

More complications, I guess the bolt pattern on his rims is 5 x 114 while mine is 5 x 100 so i don't think its going to work out but I will double check to see that the size is right as it does seem to be an awkward tire size? plus would it even be possible to put 5x114 on 5x100 even if the tires would fit?

Take a look at my profile,
If the wheels are the same GTS wheels, they're 5x100. Toyota's Celica line hasn't used 114.3 to my knowledge. Sounds like he may be messing up his numbers some. If they are aftermarket wheels and are 114, there is no way to mount them without using an adapter which I STRONGLY recommend against using (can sheer off lugs).

I skipped over that.

That's going to be your problem. Unless they're GTS wheels, they most likely won't fit, especially if he says they're using 225 and are 114.3. More than likely you're kinda SOL.

ya i figured they weren't going to fit seeing as all the tire combo's online never had 225 for gts celica and plus the 5 x 114 wasn't going to work out, he did end up selling them by the end of the day frown.gif Thanks for the help though
