As most of you have known, I started a beams swap a few months ago and been driving it every weekend. Its been performing really well and I love it.
The down side to this is now that I have experience a little bit of power I'm craving for more. This sucks because that means more money to be spent, but hey its a thrilling hobby it one can afford it.

I went up against one of those new corvettes today on the highway and the beams performed great against it. It wasn't really a fair match with the corvette lane changing all the time and cutting in front of 18 wheelers, which I was not going to endanger myself that much.

But once we had no traffic ahead of us, we both floored it and seems like we were equal, but i guess thats because we started taking off at 60mph. Then I wanted to see how fast he would take off at 60mph while i was crusing at 60 - his take off didn't look like something the beams couldn't handle. Then it was my turn as I took off and he cruised - Man I was so proud of my beams seeing how quickly it took off in 5th gear. I really do wish a video could of been made of this short race. There were alot of factors to take into account since it wasn't really a race, but the dude had a nice looking lady in the passenger seat who was checking out my car, so I figured a friendly chase wouldn't hurt.

I'm pretty sure that I would of lost if it was from 0-60, but from this experience I crave for more power. I might do some upgrades once winter is over or find another celica shell and put in a 3SGTE. I would never have been able to afford all this back then when the price were still high, but now thats its affordable - dreams will come true.

Just wanted to share.

Granted a beams is no match for a vette, I knew that from the get go, but my point was just to see how the beams could hold up against it. Thanks for the comment though.

Its been on my mind and I've been researching about it. I know its not gonna be cheap, but its doable. I may end up buying a spare beams for $700 and work on turboing it, but we'll see what happens after winter is over.

I'm with the skeptics, sorry...unless the powerband/available power at that speed between the BEAMS and LSx is so radically different.

One can dream can't they. Now that I have a beams - my next goal is to turbo. I've been looking into getting the 370z if i don't go 3sgte. My ultimate goal is to have an engine that produces 500+ hp.

If I had the money to grab that extra Beams, I would. 700 is a great deal. And im sure by the time you get it it'll probly be 650 or less. They cant seem to get rid of it.
