I'm just wondering what a "happy" set-up is between lowering/bigger wheels and rubbing issues.

I'm lowered approx 1.5" all around (trd springs, kyb/oem shocks) with 33+, 18x7.5 225/40/18 wheels and am having some rubbing issues from the rear. Since the upgrade from the 17's (17x7.5, 215/45/17, 33+) the rubbing seems to have increased dramatically. Before it would only be over signifigant bumps, or at high (35+mph) speeds, but now I'm rubbing on smaller bumps and at lesser speeds >10mph.

I believe the PO told me the sway bars/bushings could be causing this noise as well. How would I check to see what is causing me to rub, whether it is the sways or the wheels

Hey man

I got 18x7.5's on my beast and its lowered bout 1.75 inches. And holly ****... If im turning and i hit a bump, my tire slams into my fenders and it really sounds bad. Cant be too good for the tires either. Im startin to see the gouges. bad news. I think with my new rims im gonnd go with 17's. Almost the same look, much better driving.

I am looking at a set of wheels and tires 225/45/18 and 18x7 +45 offset. Ican get the wheels to work with a spacer, but will the tires fit ok and not rub? I know it is going to fill the wheelwell more and lift the car about an inch and a half, but I will be installing some ground effects eventually and will lower it if I have to as well.

I had 225/45/17 on my 7inch wheels my first go around. I ran a +40 offset and did not rub. This was on 17s though, so I can not fully vouch for 18s. You definitely need a lower offset though. Spacer is needed.
