Hey everyone.

My name's Leon, I'm 18 and from Australia.

I've been looking for a first car for over 4 months and just bought one - a 6th gen celica of course ;D

It's a black 1997 Celica SX with only 68,000 kms in terrific condition - I love it!

The only mods I want to do are along the lines of Borghe, who's celica I saw a couple of months ago in the multimedia forum - I was gobsmacked by how awesome it looks.

Here are some pics of my celica.

Since purchasing it I've changed the two front tyres and put the old fronts on the back, put new wipers on and given it a well deserved wash. The previous owners were an old greek couple who had to sell the car because it was too low for the old man to get in biggrin.gif. For those wondering, the antenna is semi up due to a problem where you can hear the motor trying to bring it up and down, but the antenna goes nowhere. Since I live near the city I've just disconnected the antenna - no more annoying buzz. Overall I think the car is in great condition and is very straight, but it needs a polish! The previous owners never polished it, I don't even think they washed it D: ...It came with paint protection so I think that has preserved the paint fairly well. A huge bird crap has eaten into the clear on the rear around the keyhole, and on top of the spoiler. Tried polish and a claybar to get it out, but to no avail - oh well!

I plan on getting the windows tinted first, then perhaps some ZR/GT-S sideskirts if I can find any. I found this site last week, but I'm not sure whether to go with it or not - http://carmate.com/product_details.php?pro...id=TOYCEL96ZRSS - feedback would be greatly appreciated smile.gif

Cheers smile.gif

Welcome, and pics! Borghe's Celica looks good, but more importantly, it's clean and tastefully done.

Wow nice ride and welcome ! If I had a chance to paint my celica black I would. tongue.gif

I think you should order a pair of JDM tails. They look nice on black celicas.

smile.gif

Dude that site carmate that sells the side skirts is like a 10min drive from me.

hey hey! nice to see another Aussy aboard! How is everyone finding these low km celicas, mines at 220k frown.gif

With the aerial, its a generic problem that happens with all 6th gens, alot of people have put S2000 antennas on there celicas which is cool as its a fair bit to fix the one on it but im thinking of making on inside the glass sometime in the future like the falcons have.

JDM tails would be awesome man. If you go through that carmate place for any mods let me know how it goes wink.gif I'm also interested in these http://carmate.com/product_details.php?pro...d=TOYCEL96OEMRA and these http://carmate.com/product_details.php?pro...d=TOYCEL96OEMFA - Have to save heaps of money though. I got lucky with the low k's Euphoria, the owners only ever drove to the shops and to their relatives house (30 second drive apparently). I'll definitely look into the S2000 antenna, thanks!

Just get them off Vincent_doggy. Cheaper and perfect fitment. None of this carmate mold ****.

Ps. Im near certain it was a mold off mine as i went there to do some work.
