I know i'm supposed to use 205 55R15 on my stock alloy wheels but i have a HUGHE deal for 4 brand new winter tires for 100$ from a co-worker but thing is they are 185 70R15...
I know that I can use 195 60R15 but will the 185's be ok? -------------------- |

185/70 are tall enought to me but i'm not sure if that will be safe anf if the tire works good...stock rims are 15x6 or 15x6.5? if they are 6 i think it will be good...

if you were to calculate your tire's Outside Diameter (OD) from the specs.
Your OEM tires are 205/55/15 which has an OD of 23.88 185/70/15 will have an OD of 25.20 inches = +1.32inches difference 195/60/15 will have an OD of 24.21 inches = +0.33inches difference When I went to Kaltires they told me they like to stay within 0.4 inches of OEM in order for the speedometer to not be way off. For 185/70/15 your speedo will tell you you’re going slower than you are. Which might equate to more speeding tickets if you're not careful. Fitment wise maybe someone on here more knowledgeable can tell you if it’ll rub or not. |

I wouldn't worry about it rubbing all that much, but the tire is awfully narrow compared to the 205's. I would find something that fits the rim better.
