It's a magical time in a young boys life where anything is possible!

...why discourage him? Let him find out on his own if it doesn't work, obviously he has some idea in his head.

Hes a young kid, he has a dream, not an idea. If he had an idea he would know why this wouldn't work.
These threads pop up every single year by someone with a pipe dream that clams they can get this done because they get "discounts" or have a friend who has a friend who owns a shop. Yet nothing ever comes out of it.

Is it "possible"? In theory, yes. Just like the jet engine powered celicas (monster garage did one), but is this within the budget and skill set of a young kid with underglow neons and a supra rear bumper? no.

Excuse me now while I go put in a Peter Built truck motor into my Celica.

how many lbs of boost will you be running art? haha laugh.gif

Stock boost... only 65psi.

TURBO DESIEL!

Everyone will say it's impossible. It can't be done. Maybe it can't. Maybe it can. I'm about to test fit a 1JZ into a Celica GT just to see how much room it takes up. Sure, the idea of fitting a longitudinally mounted straight-6 RWD into a car that takes a transverse mounted 4-cylinder FWD is ridiculous, but it's worth a shot. But really, dude, try it. And if you decide to write more about, please, i'm begging you please, learn how to write. I could only read half of anything you wrote because it was so mind-numbingly painful. Use some punctuation, maybe some capital letters occasionally. You're about to attempt the "impossible," punctuation is easy. And I'll let you know how much room the 1JZ takes up.

This swap is not impossible....any swap is possible...all it takes is just MONEY!!! Im talking about ALOT, ALOT of money, and if you dont have that, then dont consider the swap being done and running right.

why waste 20k into trying to fit a 2jz into a celica when you can go out and just buy a supra? seems pointless.

yea motor cost you 300

but if its done correctly, it will cost you close to 20k

imo i would rather own a supra

It'll fit. .....once you cut the radiator support and bumper support and move them forward a handfull of inches....ohh and the firewall moved back a few as well.
By then, it won't look much like a celica anyway.

HAHA thats great...nice one

listen here young lad, and take everything i am going to say into consideration. If you can put a full supra body kit on a celica, mold it, and make it look legit, then by all means do it.

If you think your going to throw a 2jz into a FWD car, its not going to happen. its next to impossiable with our chasis, and making ANYTHING for the car would have to be custom fabricated. you would be better off building a whole custom frame for the car, then taking the body of celica and putting it onto it, even then the fire wall will have to be cut and fabbed in order to fit that huge tranny under there.

if you are smart enough to think that you can do this, then you sir, are smart enough to click the search button. This topic has been covered many many times in the past. There is lots of good information in a lot of those threads

i will get you started:

^ Im with this guy! ^

THIS

I'm also going to add, Hardtarget DID NOT have a celica front end....it was tubed

well 99% of the regulars that post frequently on 6gc love to rip ppl for trying things new or being different.. They delight in trying to bash others.. maybe because their own life sucks so they want to make others feel their pain.

Good luck with everything man.. gonna be a challenge thats for sure

Nope, my life is great. Last time I checked you love to "call people out" for no reason.
After being on this site for a few years you tend to notice that this is the 999th post about someone who knows someone whos going to do a 2jz swap. Out of all the people who made these posts, none of them have ever did a single thing to make it happen.

If a person is really going to tackle a project like that on, they should have a very clear understanding of whats involved and know that they are 110% on their own because its all uncharted territory. Posting on 6gc for help is not going to do any good.
