Ok it wasn't bothering me before but now it is since w ter time is coming and I'm going to be needing fluid sprayed onto my windshield. So the problem is the rear mont sprays water, but for some reason the front isn't. Are they using seperate pumps? And if they are, does anyone happen to know how I can get to the front mount washer fluid pump to replace it?

It's a single reversable motor. One direction for the front the other for the back. I had to replace one doing the same thing, but before you go that far open the hood and have someone run the washer to see if water is moving through the front tube as it could be the sprayers are plugged! With the engine off you should be able to hear the motor running in both directions. If in doubt pull the tube off the sprayer and run again. If you have to replace the motor you have to remove the fender splash guard to get to it! Cheap replacement and easy to do, pain to get to!

Cutrara Is exactly right! Aftermarket isn't that much cheaper and crap! If you have to replace the pump motor OEM is the only way to go for this part! Let me know if you need the part number.

I am going to put this out there because it happend to me. Normaly you would pull the wiper control arm towards you to activate the washer right? or so I thought. The rear one would spray when you turned the switch, but when I pulled the arm towards me the wiperblades would go put nothing out of the spayers. Could even here the pump turn on. So I orderd a new one from the dealer, and in the meen time I swiched the hoses on the pump. Now my fronts worked on my rear did not, which was fine. Then one day when cleaning my car I noticed a little button on the end of the wiper control and pushed it and my rear sprayer started to work. I felt like such a dumb ass for not seeing this before laugh.gif . So I swiched the hoses back to they were before and everything worked. Maybe this could be your problem. Or am I the only one this has happend to?

The stick has the icon for the spray on the button. Never seen a 6-gen Celica without it there. The pull is for the mist. My dad's Subaru is the same way. Common wiper layout, actually.

Also, quick question to those who know. Since the motor is reversible, is it safe to say that if the front washer is working than the rears should also be working, purely from considering the life of the motor? Or is it possible that the pump may not run reversed for the rear but will run for the front?

It can run in one direction and not the other. The pump is a three wire setup for the motor and occasionaly one of the leads inside the motor housing will corode through. This happens most often when water is getting around the splash guard or the car is in a high salt air enviroment. The leads are a woven copper and can't be replaced. So if you have power from both leads in the connection socket it's the lead inside the housing.

ok so i tested what you said pyeatts.. apparently my front side is just not working.. thought it would be the mounts plugged or something so i took the hoses off and tried it again.. no buzz from the motor or fluid coming out of the hose. so my guess is that i need a new motor.. and yeah ill probably need that part #.. i appreciate all the help guys. biggrin.gif

Is the washer pump and the wiper motors the same on the US models and the JDM models?
