So basically i broke the shift cable or linkage whatever you choose to call it and im having a hard time picking one up. so my question is...can you either use one from a corolla since i have a 7afe in my car and since its the same in the corollas can you use them or use one from a 5sfe eventhough they are different trannys maybe the same cable? not sure so some helpl pleaseee thanks smile.gif

its possible, but in my experience not all cars are the same. take the 7th gen and carolla XRS for example. both come with a 2ZZ-GE and C60 gear box. however on the carolla the shifter linkage is on the opposite side of the tranny.

if the length from the gear selector arm to the shifter is the same I guess them could work and they are in the same position as Smaay mentioned.
