I'm back three motors later...
Just got done putting a new motor in my GT. Driving it since last night, it's smoking out of the exhaust but my mechanic said he's 100% sure it's just build up that I need to drive out (that's not the reason for the post though). Right when I got home last night the engine light came on so I brought it to my mechanic's house today and it was because of the 1st o2 sensor. Both the sensors are plugged in, it said delayed response. My mechanic cleared the code but I want to know if this happened to anyone else and what exactly the cause is. thanks. |

O2 is starting to fail or the wiring is bad |

is this something that I should be really concerned about quickly? um, your gas milage will start getting ****ty lol, u might see about a 1/4th less or so in your fuel efficency. idle may even get a little rough as you pump more unneeded fuel into the system |

TRY JUST DRIVING THE CAR A LITTLE. THERE MAY BE OIL DEPOSITS IN THE SIRCONIA ELEMENT INSIDE THE SENSOR. IF YOU ARE LUCKY ENOUGH THE SENSOR WILL START WORKING LIKE IT SHOULD. I REALLY DON'T THINK YOU WILL SEE ANY NOTICEABLE SIMPTOMS BESIDE FUEL CONSUMPTION, SINCE THE COMPUTER TAKES OVER THE FUEL SYSTEM ONCE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. IF THIS DOES HAPPEN I WOULD SAVE SOME MONEY LITTLE BY LITTLE TO HAVE THAT SENSOR REPLACED..
