Will be a bit difficult to do on a 6gc. And does your bro have a twin turbo EJ or a twin scroll turbo? You can match him in the 6gc with some serious weight loss and good choice of mods.

Dear god, two turbos doesn't mean twice the power. One is a small turbo to spool in low RPM, and the other is bigger to power mid and high RPM. Your brother's WRX is heavy. Swap a 3SGTE into your celica with limited slip and you'll beat him... hopefully. Subarus perform well in drag situations due to AWD.
Your friend's RX7 is an unreliable pile of garbage. Your 5SFE won't go too fast without dropping major money, so save up 6-8 grand and swap in a 3SGTE. Problem solved. -------------------- 1991 MR2 - T-tops - Crimson Red - Gen3 3SGTE - Lots of money

Thats the major deal the money and I dont know if I want to destroy the orginality of my celica. Its mainly the money I've already droped 3600 into it for repairs. -------------------- |

Take an beams 3sge and supercharge it. There is something for originality ^_^. But seriously man, try to set a better goal or aim for yourself, beside trying to just beat your brothers car. Thats an easy way to set your self up for disappointment.

just buy some ebay ecu chips and call it a day...
for cereal though... no twin turbo, and i'm just guessing that considering you say money is an issue, just worry about keeping the car running. in the meantime read around and realize how expensive and challenging it is to squeeze power out of our cars |

you do not need a twin turbo just drive the car, this is my opinion, if your going to drive the car everyday thats really not pratical. now say your just going to use it as a drag car then yes this is ok, but here is my thought, you can only go 70 mph without getting a ticket and our cars are already cop magnets, just drive the car end of story. but hey thats my opinion i will just stick to my 7afe

Why did you drop $3600 into repairs? That's more than what the car is worth. Simply put, if you don't want to spend a lot of money, you're not going to be able to beat a WRX or RX-7. Sure the RX-7 has reliability issues, but it's a quick car none the less. 3sgte is your best option for price and performance. Reason being is because if you turbo your 5sfe, maybe, just maybe you'd be able to win one race (on a track of course). But it would be a lot easier for them to bump their power up from that point, compared to the 5sfe turbo. You'd have to put a lot more money into a 5sfe turbo to get it to the "next step", so in the end, it would have been cheaper to go with the 3sgte over the 5sfte.
With all that aside though, you shouldn't build your car just so you can beat someone else. -------------------- |

*scratches head*
4cylinders.. 1 exhaust manifold.... it makes logical sense to use one turbo... infact unless im missing something within twin or symetrical turbo design... you would hurt your performance with 2 (spool wise, and lack of space for bigger turbo) 5s-gte is the way to go if u got CACHING! $$$$ This post has been edited by Mstoochn: Dec 14, 2009 - 11:18 PM |

You should do 4 turbos. One for each cylinder.

You should do 4 turbos. One for each cylinder. if you did that plus the ebay ecu chips and e-charge it that would not only be unique and straight ballin but also one of a kind. and lol @ 95celicast...i've pretty much stopped caring...got a few more aesthetic mods then i'm just gunna drive it till it falls apart...i like the car and the lines, but the whole fwd, crap engine business is bleh...unless autoxing then maybe...but i would rather have a mini for fwd...but that's completely off topic and i am rambling |
