I've always been a honda fan. Lol.

Good power plant, with no thieves. More responsive to mods.

I have a few motors laying around, and bored.

Something different.

So...why not get a Honda instead of massacring the Toyota name?

In a sense, it would be cool to see a difficult swap completed- but it's wrong.

i know we are biased for toyota. its kinda like a toyota enthusiast pride to see 2jz's in bmw's and s2k's. if you read comments on those swaps, people say its crazy and great.

its not wrong, its just being unique and creative.

I think it is a cool concept and will def. be faster than any 4age, 7a or 5s setup

you guys make my day

you guys also really need to use the FRIGGIN SEARCH BUTTON!!

well if you wanna take my words that literally since it was 1 in the morning and I was trashed..... so your telling me that a solid ls or lsv setup will get outperformed by a solid 4a or 5s? Its not like im pro honda, but use the search button and find better numbers for honda motors all day. . . I will agree it kinda is redundant to put one of these motors in our cars, but im tired of seeing the same ****.

Bseries have alot of aftermarket but your WAAYYYY better off with a Hseries. Hseries have alot of aftermarket support just look around.
H's are perfect swaps for Preludes and Accords due to the fact that they are heavier so more torque is needed and our 6g's come in par with the Prelude weightwise if I'm not mistaken. H23A VTEC would do wonders in our Celi's , 197hp/ 163 ft torque and you can find them for $800 and easily find a trany with LSD for a good $4-600. I think this is the best swap Honda wise for our cars. The only engine I would pick over this is say a K20 Type R head and a K24 block.

Why not go J Series??? Lol stuff your 6g with a J37A4, 305 hp\273 ft all motor. biggrin.gif

Sorry but on that you are mistaken. H23A is VTEC equipped. The JDM version of the H23A came in the Accord SiR if I remember correctly. Google it up.

Regardless of whether the H23 has VTEC or not, for those power numbers, just swap a BEAMS in and save yourself a lot of headaches. Yes, the H23 may be half as much, but the work you would have to put into it negates any cost savings.

True, but think about, the aftermarket for Honda engines are endless. Way more then Beams ever will have. But Beams wouldn't be a bad idea ither. It's all up to the OP, but seems like he lost focus on this and moved on since he hasn;t posted.

I know exactly what you mean, TiGZ. There is no aftermarket for BEAMS at all. You're completely on your own. But if you feel like stopping at 197 hp, then you're going to save a lot of work and time to get there by going BEAMS. I just feel like if you are going to go through that much effort with a motor swap buy putting a motor that doesn't belong in a Celica, then do a V6 swap. Honda has more aftermarket support, yes. No doubt. But a Honda motor in a Celica bay, you're on your own for a lot of things. You can't just buy a full exhaust. It all has to be custom. Same for the intake. It has to be placed differently. I say go V6 or bust. Just my opinion though.

Agree with you completely. It would be so much easier to stick with a Toyota engine over a Honda engine any day. The custom work needed to make this work is gotta cost you a couple $1000's. I really wouldn't do this unless I REALLY needed to be different and be a first at doing something. I mean if your really gonna go thru with it OP go for it. I'll follow your built all the way. But if you change your mind about it I understand completely.

Drop a 3gen 3s-gte in it and call it a day. Lol but I stilll wanna see this happen so don't lose focus tongue.gif
