Talk to LAGOS i know after we are done with mine he will be looking for one to purchase....how many miles are on it? is it a steel wheel(off of the WRC) or is it a ceramic wheel? any shaft play?

JIM- i see what you are saying...and eventually i will run into the probelm of needing more fuel, which is why i will be looking for some stock 3rd gen 540's to throw in my car, along with an upgraded fuel rail. I know ATS sells the rails, along with wolfcats, i believe that is their name.

As for the offensive part, not at all, probably just the way it sounds over the computer...lol...like i said before we are just trying to show the best possiable route to get the most out of the 2nd gen with out breaking the bank. Once we have EVERYTHING fine tuned, runing optomial boost, Then i will go from there and upgrade the fuel system. But even still, with larger injectors, fuel rail, and a tune to compensate, you can only run so many pounds on the ct20b, espically with the ceramic wheel. From what i have heard, 18-19psi on the ceramic turbo is about the safest with-out pushing it too far. With the steel wheel you can go a few pounds more and still be somewhat safe. So as long as we have enough fuel to get us to 19psi on the ceramic 20b, there is no point in upgrading the fuel system or injectors, other then the fact of being safe(which is always a good thing dont get me wrong) but not something you need to get to that desired boost level, AGAIN as long as fuel is not an issue. And with the addition of the WI i dont think it will be a problem.

As far as the ecu goes, for what we are working with, i think the stock ecu of the 2nd gen will work just fine.

o0 and art, This thread isnt about making your car faster, its about making MY CAR FASTER!! your just lucky you have all of the supporing mods aready in the whip tongue.gif

MUHAHAHAH

ART actually just picked the turbo up a few minutes ago, i think he is heading up to a freinds garage tomorrow and will be putting it on, then probably will street tune it for a while, then we will be able to take it to the dyno and see what we can do. Sucks i cant be there tomorrow to help, but o well.

I have to check the wheel. It's off a 3rd gen 3S-GTE JDM MR2. No shaft play. Just the little radial play they have when there's no oil running through them. No axial play at all. Engine was installed and driven like 2K miles, then the car was wrecked doing the dorifto thing. rolleyes.gif The importers say they come from Japan with 50K miles (which we all know it's probably BS). tongue.gif So it should have about 5XK miles.

Haha NICE, have fun with the turbo stay bracket....I HATE that F***** thing!

While its out, you may want to think about adding a helper spring. It helps keep the actuator door shut for much flatter boost "curve" under all situation (low boost or high boost situation).

yea im defintally going to put the helper spring on, but i told him to drill the holes wile its out, so it will make it a lot easier if we want to throw a spring on it...i cant wait to go for a ride in this thing and feel the difference, but cold hard numbers will be nice to look at as well. This thing should run like a beast espically with this weather right now.

Drilling the wholes alone wont help you. First you wont be able to get to where the spring needs to be installed while the turbo is still installed on the car, and Second...you need to "tune" the spring for desired load. If you dont, your actuator opening pressure may have no difference at all (hopefully) or you your actuator wont have enough force to open AT ALL (DANGEROUS).

Turning up the boost is as easy as zeroing out the correcting he currently has set and raising boost with his EBC....But I bet he already did that and turned up the boost, loved it, then ran off to Mexico with your turbo laugh.gif
