everyone is familiar with the prius and its solar powered air conditioner system well i was going about my day when it hit me why not use that power not to cool the cabin of the car but the engine such as cooling the air after the turbo or maybe somewhere in the intercooler or the radiator just an idea i would like some of your opinions, and if you were lucky this could be doable i mean maybe you go to a junkyard and see a prius with solar panel rip it off and try it perhaps. i have no clue how it works on the prius but eh it would be a neat thing

Your idea doesn't really make sense since the engine radiator, intercoolers, and air conditioning systems all get cooled for "free" by the air that rushes onto them while you are driving your car.

lol

Thing is, it's not just the panels you'll be needing if you want to cool something down.

^ The other day I was brainstorming with my buddies and we got that great drunken idea. Use the AC system to cool the intake charge. laugh.gif

solar sunroof = heavy roof. Added cooling from higher center of gravity < natural cooling from movement.

Maybe a Solar Powered Hood smile.gif
