As topic states, my PS pump has gone bad, and needs to be replaced. I have acquired another from a member here for a fraction of the cost of a new one (Thank you muches sir) Instead of purchasing a new one, being I plan to swap within a couple or so months. I just can't take the belt squeel anymore, and the spill of fluids everytime I add more fluid, and no its not any of lines. Thats all been checked, its the res that is the issue, but i figured since i'm going to change that out, just do the whole thing.

So my question is, does anyone have any tips to get this done easier then what is stated in the hayes manual. It states to remove some metal shield, and the right front axle (Done all this before, so I know that process...it sucks) . Of course then remove all tension from belts and proceed to remove the pump from under the vehicle etc. Thats all well and dandy, just doesn't seem like the best way to accomplish the task. Which is why I ask you pros of the 6th gen celicas. Thank you in advance.

Well...I figured it out, 8 cuts, and a bruised fingernail from the hammer. Its done, pump is fixed, no more leaking or squeaking.

Btw, the presure line on the back closest to the pully is a major pain in the butt to remove. Line wrench was useless as you could not get it in place to hold the one bolt. Didn't have to remove the axle either as the hayes manual stated. Might have been easier to get the pump out, but messing with the axle is bad enough. Did find my boot was blow though, so that is next, along with breaks.

...thanks for the tips.

New alt & belt just a few months ago!!
Thanks for the tips--checking ours tomorrow just incase there's anything going on there.

Well if you need any help I can supply, its fresh in my mind and wounds still open =P

I would check your idler pully, also make sure it has the correct tension on the belt for that series.

You lucky though, altenator work is real easy to get too, and don't have to take one belt off to get to the nexT!
