I'm looking to do a working holiday for a year after I finish up school in late April and I'm still debating on where I want to go. So far I'm thinking either Ireland or New Zealand. I have quick question though for anyone in Ireland.

I was looking into how much it would cost to buy a car, so i started looking on gumtree.ie and I found some really good looking cars for dirt cheap (Lexus IS200s, Celica GTs, 2000 and newer VW camper van conversions, etc) for all less than 3000 euro. Is there any reason why the cars are so cheap?? Is insurance or registration really expensive over there? Also, hows the price of petrol?

I'm trying to figure out what would be the best place to go and where i would be able to travel without coming back home in massive amounts of debt.

I really want to go to Ireland because I recently tracked my family history back to County Cavan and a place in County Leitrim where my last name originated from, so I'd love to go see where my family is from and trace back some of my roots.
