I really just love Celicas, guys! Haha. Here's just a few reasons why...
Last week I went to church with my girlfriend. After it got out, I was getting in my car getting ready to go to my buddies house when a kid grabbed his mom (Kid's probably like 4-5), pointed at my car and said "Look at THAT car mommy!" So I pulled up and talked to him for awhile and I ended up letting him get in the driver's seat and his mom was taking pictures and such. The smile on that kids face was priceless, he looked like he was having the time of his life. There were like 5-6 people around me asking me a bunch of questions about it and all of them were telling me how nice it looks giving me tons of compliments. Then later that week, I pulled up in a local Chevron and started pumping gas. There was a CHP officer parked outside. When he got out of his car to go inside, I saw him eying my car the entire time. I kindof ignored it and went back to text messaging (or whatever I was doing haha). A few minutes rolled by and he came back outside and walked up to me and complimented my car and how "nice I keep it" and he told me he used to own one of them but it "never looked that good" haha. He said when he saw it that it brought back memories. Then today, I was leaving school and there was a truck parked next to me. I park WAYYY far away from everyone else just to avoid door dings, so I thought it was a bit weird. I walked up to my car and there's a guy looking at it. He told me "Man you're lucky to have this car. It's gorgeous." I didn't know what to say so I just said "Thanks" and drove away. And the funny part is, my car is FILTHY! I haven't washed it in weeks, I'm waiting for all the rain to go away haha. And every time I park my car in the school parking lot, I get out of the car and whenever I am about 15 steps away, I turn around and just look at it. It's just like "Whoa, that's MY car!" And just like rave2n said in the 6GC For Life thread, I NEVER get tired of driving down the street and seeing people go ![]() Post some stories about your Celica and what people think of it ![]() -------------------- 1996 Toyota Celica GT (GT4 conversion) - SOLD :(

Its hard to keep our cars clean, especially the older 6gens. After getting my rust patched up and new paint for the rear quarters, its a whole different car.

Yes you do have a bitchin' ride!! ![]() I love our Celica-- it has NEVER let us down! The ONLY problems we've had, 1 major which was my fault, 2 minor. Major--couple yrs ago I backed into a tree...aced a quarter panel!! Minor -- The alt gave out, but I was off that day, so no biggie. Then, the battery died a couple weeks ago...AutoZone replacement--a lil bigger than the original & doesn't quite tighten like the original. Spring I'm going to call the dealer for a real battery!! I also believe it saved me from a disastor a few weeks ago-- that story is called "3 inches from a major accident". As I said in that thread, I believe the handling & response saved me!! It's an awsome feeling when ppl look at a car & get big eyes!! Yessir, I LOVE our Celica!! ![]() |

I bought mine thinking I was just getting a work car that would get killer milage. It was so dirty when I bought it I didn't think it would ever shine up. My oldest son and I spent the whole afternoon washing and waxing. It had the 18's on it but they were so coverd in brake dust you couldn't tell they were chrome.
![]() When we got done I couldn't keep my wife and daughter out of it. I took it to get the oil changed and the guys at the quick lube were fighting over who was going to pull it in. I took it out for the weekend away and the valets at the hotel we stayed at were very disappointed I didn't let them park it (learned my lesson at the quick lube). I have times when I think I'm getting tired of it and want something different so I clean it up and look for the FOR SALE sign but all I have to do is stand back and look at it shine in the sun and I kinda fall in love all over again. ![]() I love my car so much when my daughter started drivers ed I went out and found her one. Turns out she didn't like driving a stick so I let my oldest son have it when his Mazda died. Now he's worn his out and with more help than you can imagine from this site and Richee3 I hope to get it going again soon. I would have a fleet of these things if I could afford it. ![]() -------------------- Never take advice from someone who is not doing better than you

Do you guys get compliments all the time? I rarely get any, maybe once in a year and its usually a old guy asking me if there is a V8 in it thinking its an new domestic...
i also don't get noticed on the street, get other tuner's attention nor harassment from them. My car's just living a peaceful celica life. but then again, i love how low of a profile i have. -------------------- PROJECT 6TH GEN

Yeah, I don't get as many compliments either as I hear some of you getting.
The best one was probably when I was washing her right after I put my wheels on. A guy walks by and he goes "Wow, dad letting you wash his car eh?" That made me feel pretty good. Other times, people just walk by and tell me she looks sharp, good, etc. And I've only had a few Hondas ( ![]() This post has been edited by SwissFerdi: Feb 26, 2010 - 2:35 PM -------------------- '97 ST \ Eibach \ KYB \ Kenwood \ Alpine \ Cusco \ OEM+ [sold 10/18]
