Agreed. I tore some 5.slows a new one at the drag strip one night... In my Dodge Ram. I wish I was kidding.

Might be trading the Celica for a 5.0 Mustang, so I know that's exciting for Kurt. tongue.gif

No......just no
5.0s are a joke..there not even really a 5.0 an for a v8 sports car there stupid slow stock

This doesn't sound like the Kurt I talked to awhile back. It's the SN95 5.0 with 5-speed, 0-60 in some six and a half seconds is a lot faster than the ten seconds the Celica takes. Besides you know that getting to 300hp mark in the 5.0 is easy and fairly cheap. It's my second choice, but finding the Firebird with a manual is like striking gold. If this falls through I'll just keep the Celica and go all eco-modder on it. Don't think anyone has done that yet here, so that'll be exciting for everyone.

Also installed the Illuminated Keyring, and it didn't work frown.gif
Now to try and figure out why frown.gif

Hmm, could be there's a relay or fuse not in the car since it didn't come from the factory with it. That and you used a new bulb right? Either way don't fret, there are ways around things.

Eco modded? I'm making 31mpg with a GT that I'm beating the **** out of. Don't need anymore Eco than that.

You know, like close up the front of the car to make it more aerodynamic. Strip all of the unnecessary weight out of it. Make funny looking nose and tail cones to improve the coefficient of drag. Install engine kill switches so I can kill the engine and coast with more ease. Go for 50+ mpg, the usual crazy stuff people do to $700 Civics.

One guy that posted in that thread (page 2) was on Eco Modder.

That post seems familiar. Well damn, now I'll have to figure out something else to make myself stand out. I got it, I'll jack it up into the air and make it into a 4x4 off-roader. tongue.gif

Today I (Well, yesterday.... but I never post in this thread on time tongue.gif) took off the 25mm spacers to stop it rubbing. Doesn't look too bad without them - I thought it would look worse tongue.gif

And I bought and installed a GT-FOUR rear strut brace smile.gif

And then went for an enthusiastic mountain drive on the way home from picking it up, which was great biggrin.gif

AND...... I DROVE A BEAMS!!!! XD It was amazing - hard to believe that it is the same car tongue.gif

Today I thought out how to make JDM tails legal to use in the U.S. and other localities that require a side-marker for the front and rear.

Feels hugely different, no?

A few days ago, had an alignment done, mostly to correct toe and caster. Expensive but worth it, the car tracks twice as well but still pulls to the right, apparently due to the negative camber on the left front wheel. Through a steady-state corner, the nose tucks in due to slightly less understeer and a lot more stable oversteer toward the limit. On-ramps are fun. First auto-x event on November 3rd.

Nothing like having the car properly aligned, on a flat and straight road I can take my hand off the wheel and it tracks as straight as can be. Why didn't they take care of the camber as well?
