Lmao I know but it looks good! I'm not sure if I shud go for 16s or 17s at the moment. Picking alloys is more difficult than picking a car!

Neither, 15." The best my car has felt is on 195/50, although for the speedo to be correct it should be 195/55 or 205/50.

15s are tiny lol I changed them because there was more tyre than alloy! Lol I may go for some 16s as it is closest to the originals as I would like and the car height should drop another inch or so

I had the OEM 14" alloys on mine. tongue.gif If you want 16's find some Enkei RPF1's, at least they're pretty light. Only 13.7? pounds or so for a 16 inch wheel.

I'm Mr. OEM remember? tongue.gif They were the lightest rims around outside of maybe buying some 14" Enkei or SSR wheels, but the weight savings wouldn't have justified the cost by any means. The lighter your wheels the better, less rotational mass means less energy loss. There's also a fine balance in sidewall height, performance wise. I just don't care for thin sidewalls, there are some newer cars I'd downsize if provided with enough caliper clearance. It's one thing if you have 20" rims with 15" brake rotors, but having large rims with tiny brakes just looks tacky.

lol i dont know how you love keeping stuff oem man. alloys are usually the first to go for me lol although i usually stick to similar style of alloys as they look the best. 14 and 15" are definitely out the question for me. they cost too much for what they are and i have laptops that are bigger than them lol but i definitely hear you on the big alloy small rotor thing. i think the car will look the best on 17s but run alot smoother on the 16s. just have to find a set of nice deep dish or concaves if not jus something as light as possible.

also i came across this. it made me laugh. thought i would share lol immature i know.

OEM is beautiful. tongue.gif I like mild modifications that look like they could be OEM, or in many cases were OEM options or came from their performance brand.(i.e. TRD, Nismo, Mazdaspeed, etc...) Which these days OEM is becoming hard to find with a lot of cars. I'm an old soul, what can I say?

Plenty of fairly light 16" rims out there, just need to pull up what shops near you have available. That and whoever will have reasonable shipping. There are a lot of pictures of the Celica with a variety of rims around here, I'm sure there's something out there that'll catch your fancy.

I have 17s on my car and I think they look great. I wouldn't go any bigger that that. My wheels are pretty light for their size. They only weigh about 18ib and were lighter than the 16s that I had on before.

But some 16's are 13 pounds or less. redface.gif LIGHTNESS FOR EVERYONE!!! Just have to decide what's more important, function or form. Honestly I don't care what the wheels look like, I only see them when I'm walking up to the car or washing it. tongue.gif

Wheels can make or break a car in my opinion. I hated my old wheels and my car looks 1000x better with my new ones. I need new wheels for my civic. The stock ones are too pedestrian.

True, to a degree I care how they look. The really light alloys don't look bad per se though, so I guess that helps to balance things out. Though on a muscle car or something else where the weight of the wheels doesn't have as big of an impact I feel there's a little more free reign to be had.

You should have no problem finding rims for a Civic, it seems the Honda crowd is constantly changing out their rims. I was looking for some Enkei or Kosei 14's or 15's for the Miata and came across a set of 17" Enkei rims for $200.

Contacted rimstyle today for some drc dr-b alloys. 16x8j 5x100 et25. They told me it won't fit my car because probably won't clear the brakes so my question is... Wtf?

Hmm, Tire Rack gives 8" wide wheels with an offset of 35mm so maybe that's where they're saying it might not fit?

Today my airbag light came on. Pulled the code and it was a 31 which is the airbag ecu. I'm hoping it will just go off after I reset it but I fear it won't. Anyone know how to rest the airbag light?

I can't remember if there's a separate fuse for the airbag system, if so pull it. If not just disconnect the battery for awhile.

Tried that, didn't work. I'm just going to try to find a used airbag ECU.

Here is a link to create a tool to turn off the airbag light:

http://www.toyotacelicaonline.com/airbagtool.htm

It's very cheap to construct and 95% of the parts are at Radio Shack.

Or could just remove the bulb? tongue.gif Though if he wants working airbags he'll need a replacement module.

I want it working. I'm still driving it daily while getting my civic "road worthy." It's the perfect chance for me to switch to a 3 post wheel though. I saw that Smaay had a ecu in his part out for like $40 so I'll probably pick that up.
