Snagged a dash is great condition from the salvage yard. Not a bad deal for 25 dollars. Now my head unit will mount correctly!

after purchasing a swapped celica from another member - i decided to recondition the work to make it more permanent and upgrade manifold/downpipe, radiator. Redid the wiring harness and tucked in wires. I'll also be using the E154f AWD tranny to convert it from E153 to AWD with the clip i purchased a few years back.

Hoping to be done before it gets too cold

Removed the motor block from my Celica, sold the top half to ghost, and getting ready to pull the big 1mz out tomorrow. Then for the rebuild... Going to pull the s54 tranny off then get some cash for the scrap block... Bigup to smaay for the write up on how to remove a 5sfe motor. It was a big help.

Make sure your car isn't on the ground with that axle not in. You'll completely mess up the wheel bearing on that side.

There is no engine in the car so there's really no weight on the front end.
Besides that, Why would that efect the wheel bearing?

Disconnected the vacuum line at the brake booster and let it slowly drink in 1/3 of a pint of seafoam.
After it sat for 5 minutes I fired it back up and it send thick clouds of smoke blowing across the neighborhood.

Now I'll reset the computer and see if it still gives the EGR code.

It doesn't matter. The bearing is only press on and not bolt on. Without the axle in, there's nothing to hold it together and the bearing will seat awkwardly on the hub, basically screwing it up and it will fail shortly after.

Mine were fine, without axles until my dumb ass towed it the wrong way. Blew a bearing that way.

Today I....

Finally put the 3sgte in the bay, after owning it for some 3+ years it feels like. Far from running, but progress none the less.

Not today but actually Yesterday, got my old Celica back, the guy who I sell the car like a year ago (my friend and mechanic) had some troubles and needed to sell the car so I was the First one to be called asking If I wanted back. So the Celi is back on the House. He kept it as I left her so now is my job to finish What I start.

My mechanic friend who ownes his own shop said it's fine as long as you use torque specs when tightening it back up.
