having a problem with my radio. I have one channel that I can pick up in the fm range. When I pulled my center console while trying to clean up + do some mods on the interior, I thought I would take a look. I have two cables both black Moving down along side of shifter and emergency break then go underneath my airbag control unit then dissapear. I noticed when I had the car running and I was straightening those wires and just adjusting them in my hands I was able to get my full function of am/fm, but I cant position them the way it needs to be to keep it that way.
Any suggestions? Keep in mind that my antenna doesnt exist, so my guess is that those lines are still brought all the way to the rear of the car and thats why I have some reception. I just dont know why adjusting the last few feet of the cable would make a diffrence on reception. I'm currently looking for a new motor and antenna assembly so I can see if when I connect those it will work fine, but I have a feeling theres something else at play here. just hook up an anttenna and go from there. the cable may get some reception, but what you need is antenna power.

it's your body that is acting as the antenna when you touch the cables...hence why you lose reception when you let them go

I took my antenna out as well, but only because I never listen to the radio. Its just sitting (still hooked up) in the back of my car. Would you be interested in buying it? I have an ST but I assume they are the same. If you interested i'll go out and test it and what not see it I can remove it easy.
Wouldn't charge much more than shipping as it is really no use to me, dont mind helpin out. anyway just PM me or get back to me some way if you want it -------------------- |
